The Students’ Club of QCFI was inaugurated by Sri. P R Vijayarahavan, Secretary, College Governing Council on 25.10.2018. Dr. S.Singaraj, President, College Governing Council delivered special address. Sri. B. Balakrishnan, Chairman, QCFI Madurai Chapter delivered the key note address. Sri P Sugumaran, Secretary, QCFI Madurai Chapter briefed the students about the activities of QCFI and also Madurai Chapter. Dr. V Venkatraman, Principal and Sri. Vijayan, EC Member felicitated the Students’ Club. After inauguration an awareness programme for two hours about 5S and Quality Circle was addressed by Sri. B Balakrishnan, Chairman, QCFI Madurai Chapter.
The objective of the Students’ Club-QCFI is to promote quality concepts and implement needed Quality Circles in educational institutions. To achieve this it was decided to start Students’ Club and to promote faculty development through Staff Quality Circles. Faculty Quality Circle will focus on the issues relating to faculty development and method of teaching, giving practical inputs to students, etc. Quality Circle among students will focus on 5S and Problem Solving Process in respect of the students’ related problems, developing soft skill for students’ employability and for continuous development in their life by starting and implementing Quality Circles relating to office and office administration.
150 students and 18 faculty members attended the programme. The Students’ Club membership form prescribed for them was distributed to the students. On the spot itself 100 students were offered to become member of Students Club-QCFI. Students’ Club – QCFI in Rajapalayam Rajus’ College, Rajapalayam is the first one in India to start in an Arts & Science College.
